Use of regular X10 switch or X10Socket with Flourescent bulbs.

What is the expected failure if I use some
lamp module, wall switch or socket rocket
with fluorescent. Will the lamp be damaged?,
will be the module damaged? or will I waste
energy?

With the exception of the WS13A, all of our
lamp modules, wall switches, and socket
rockets are designed for use with
incandescent bulbs. Using any other type of
load will cause the switches to not work
properly or consistently. Using a
fluorescent bulb with any of the above, will
not necessarily cause damage, but you will
get inconsistent results.

Hello

Check out X10Pro for a switch to use with flourescents and also Leviton specifically
has an X10 switch for flourescent bulbs too.

I have had success using both switches with flourescents.

X10Pro XPFM is a fixture module and is a mechanical switch type.
It should work with a Fluorescent Light.
Usually mounted in the light fixture.
