Lights Not Working
« on: July 19, 2008, 06:53:56 PM »

I have an unusual problem.  Let me set the environment.  I have two sets of lights controlled by two separate In-Line modules with the same Code (A5).  When I use Active Home Pro to automatically turn on the lights, only one of the two sets turns on.  When I use the Universal Remote to turn on the lights on demand, both sets turn on.  I do have a Phase Coupler (repeater version or what ever it's called).  When I look at the Activity Log within Active Home Pro, I see the Transmit A5 (East Eave) Command and the Transmit A On (East Eave) Command when Active Home Pro does the turning on.  When I use the Universal Remote I see Receive RF A5 On Command twice.  I then see Receive A5 (East Eave) Command followed by the Receive A On (East Eave) Command three times!  What's going on?

Is the AHP CM15A Interface being used to receive the remotes RF signals and do you have any other X10 type RF receivers in the mix?

I just checked around the area that is using House Code A and I do have a TM751 Transceiver plugged in.  I have removed it and will test once again.  Also, I was testing the TM751 as I could not get it to turn on and off remotely with either Home Auto Pro or the Universal Remote.  I am left with the notion that this Transceiver might be receiving RF but the internal module is not functioning.  The On/Off button still functions.  I will return with test information in a bit.

I just tested and both Home Auto Pro and the Universal Remote are functioning properly now.  With HAP, I see just the normal commands in the Activity Log.  With the Universal, I see one RF Receive and then two sets of the "on" command sequence.  Before I was seeing two RF Receive and then three sets of the "on" command sequence.
Observation:  I added the TM751 some time ago as I thought that I was not receiving some of my RF signals when away from the CM15.  At this point however, I will need to retest all of that.  Also, I will check tonight's Auto Schedule from HAP and see if all lights come on.  Hopefully this is the solution and I can go on to my next problem.  I will report back my evening findings.

What is HAP?

A Google and ASK search was totally useless.

Good question since the forum spell checker wats to replace this with AHP every time you do a spell check! >*<
The question should be put to the person that wrote the spell checker plug-in :)

I am sorry about that.  I don't like to use TLAs (Three Letter Abbreviations) as they can cause this type of problem but I did get tired of typing Home Automation Pro in my note.  I should have done the correct thing and said Home Automation Pro (HAP) AND now that I think about it it is call Active Home Pro so I really messed this one up!!!!!!!!   (I e-mail on a different machine that the one running Active Home Pro so I forget what things are called.)  Sorry ... but on with my saga.

I removed the TM751 and last night both sets of lights (two in-line modules set to A-5) came on and dimmed together just like I would hope.  However, when it came time to turn off only one turned off.  I have tried everything and they still are on in their dimmed state.  The Active Home Pro nor the Universal Remote will not turn them off.  I had this problem some time ago and simply disconnected the wiring to get the lights off.  Of course the power was still there but at least the neighbors did not need to see my lights 24/7.  Any idea on what is happening now?????  UPDATE: I just located my misplaced HR12A and am able to turn the lights off now.  Oh my, I have no hair left to pull out?  These weird things happen all the time.  I am going to try all three ways of messing with the lights and report back with the Log File information.  In the meantime if you have any ideas please let me know.

Well another night has gone by and I get the same results.  I can turn on both In-Line Modules with Active Home Pro and then Dim them.  However at 10:30 PM when it is time to turn them off via Active Home Pro, only one of the two turn off?  Any ideas???  I was able to turn the second In-Line Module off this morning with the HR12 all remove activities going through the CM15A.
