Hi guys quick question the other day I was next door when my x10 ds7000 alarm went off actually I was explaining the system to my neighbor who forgot and left a window open and had a break in, his alarm system was down and well he was just lucky I guess. Anyway after just being their just a few minutes my alarm when off so I dashed home and found it to be a false alarm, the console said it was the living room and I could see there had clearly not been a break in. So I went back again and the same thing happen after the third time I knew something was up, there was no one home but me and the dog was in the basement. Then I remembered that when I received my new console I didn't generate fresh security codes for the motion detectors. It was the only thing I could think of so I reinstalled everything and setup random codes and I haven't had a problem since. Now anyone know or have any idea why I was getting these false alarms to my knowledge no on my block has a x10 system most have Brinks or ADT so I'm just trying to figure out why not having random codes caused the false alarms, any ideas?
