Vanguard PTZ Controlled from Stand alone DVR
« on: February 01, 2006, 06:41:42 PM »

Has anyone hooke a Vanguard PTZ Camera to a
Stand Alone DVR system and used the PTZ
Controls through the DVR.  Obviously some
wiring would be necassary since the
Vanguard's PTZ controls are controlled
wirelessly.

My dilema is that my DVR has PTZ controlls
which allow me to view and controll my PTZ
cameras through the internet.  I have eight
cameras total, one of which is the
Vanguard.  The x10 software only allows 1
camera at a time live connection.  I would
like to finad a way to controll the PTZ
functions of the Vanguard through my
existing DVR software.  As long as I can
wire it to the back of the DVR (I have othe
PTZ cameras that work great), I should be
able to achieve this.  Currently, I have to
open my Vanguard remote software in one
window for PTZ controls, and my DVR control
software in another window to view all
eight cameras at once.

Please help.

Hey Kevin,  Did you ever figure out how to hardwire the Vanguard PTZ funtions to your standalone DVR???  I am in the same boat.  I have to open the two windows and it's a pain in the $#@$#.  Let me know if you found anything that works.

Hi there Kevin, I wandered if you ever got a helpful response to your question? I too want to control a couple of x10 VK77A cameras, inbound to a DVR card and want to bridge the DVR's PTZ controls to my "Vanguard Control Center PC Software Kit". The camera view is much better wired to my DVR card and the web view is better and more fluid. I only need to be able to use the PTZ controls, for my VK77A cameras, therefore I need to find out how to make my DVR PTZ buttons send commands across to my Vanguard Control Center PC Software Kit's PTZ controls. !!!!!!!! Holla !!!!!! ???

I believe kevin has never been active on this forum. His post on February 01, 2006 was imported from the old forum.
