WS467 works locally but not with TM751 and UR73A
« on: October 19, 2008, 04:00:00 PM »

I have transceiver module TM751 with Platinum Remote UR73A. I have four LM465 that work fine. I installed a WS467 and I can control it locally but it does not respond to on/off or dim from the remote. I checked the house code, all on A and device code 6 and tried 7 just in case. I have one more WS467 that I will install today to see if maybe I just got a bad one. I'll post my results, in the meantime, any ideas? Do these things have a high initial mortality rate?

linhartr,

Welcome to the forum,

Is sounds like you have a "new version" WS467 with soft start features.  If that is the case, the WS467 will not turn on in response to a bright command.  We've found that these units interface much better if you re-identify them as "LM14a 2-way lamp modules".

We have a tutorial thread over here: Soft Start Dimmer Problems

If this works, you may want to consider changing your LM465 units over as well (assuming they were purchased in the past year).

Let us know how things are going,

Have you considered a possible noise, or phase coupling problem?  If the WS467 can be controlled locally it is a fair indication that the switch is healthy.

linhartr,

After reading Dave W's post, I realize that I jumped to a conclusion (you're using a TM751 not ActiveHomePro).

The newer version WS467's will not turn on in response to a "bright" command from your remote (the newer LM465's will).  These units also have a feature called "resume dim" which means they will return to the last "brightness" level.  If they were previously dimmed to a very low level.  When turned back on (via your remote) they may appear to be off.

If you locally turn the switch "ON" to 100% bright and can't turn it off or on from your remote - Dave W is most likely on the correct trail (noise or coupling problems).

Sorry for the confusion (thanks for setting me straight Dave)

Thanks fellow Hoosier, but don't give me any credit or thanks. We both were responding at the same time, so I didn't see your response. I just had not seen "linhartr" on the forum before and figured it might be a "newbie" problem. (No offense linhartr, we love newbies)  ;)
