Daylight Savings Time
« on: October 30, 2008, 05:51:45 PM »

It seems to me that since they might be playing around with DST for a while that it would be better for us is the DST should
be set up with am AUTO and MANUAL box on the setup screen. That way if they change it from the standard times we
can check the manual box and enter the date we want AHP to use as the switch over time , and by checking the box AHP
would always use the manual time entered until the check mark was removed. (PROBLEM FIXED ) jvar

Unless Congress decides to change the dates again (the reason was energy saving and if there was no great energy savings, the dates were supposed to go back to the traditional ones) it's not a big problem.  If you have the CM15A connected to the PC, it gets its time from Windows.

The possible downside is if the dates go back to the traditional  ones, we get to unpatch all the PCs and other things we patched for the current dates.   :(

We have so many great Canadian X10 users.... I think we should convert to the Canadian Metric Time. It utilizes a simple base 10 system and seems to work well for them. It would take some time for me however, to get accustom to calling minutes... millimeters.

It never hurts to laugh.

YES! I myself am sold on the metric conversions! I think... converting my height [to: liters] and age [to: millimeters] makes me sound both younger and fitter. (I am over 7 liters tall... and less than a full meter old).

Don't forget the Metric Canadian Dollar.!!!!

As a Canadian, THAT'S news to me. As far as we go, we do what the Americans decide to do. Agree with it or not.
This is the rule of thumb http://ca.encarta.msn.com/encyclopedia_761574472/Daylight_Saving.html

Your not using metric time yet?

"Since any system for measuring time is arbitrary, we should be using one that is most practical for us. I think that system is Metric Time".
    Lyle Zapatopi

Read more about metric time (AKA: Decimalized Time).

The break-down of time to equal measurements based on the unit 10 (or tenths) is nearly perfect in concept... and very easy to understand. I think it's the mathematical purity that draws me to it. With it's only imperfection being the "leap-period" (which would replace the February 29th leap-day every four years) with a 13.5 metric day period every 4.5 metric years. The intent is the leap-period should be used for heavy drinking.

Yes BaBaLou... a little humor.. is a good thing.

you'd be shocked to know that the metric system has been the official system of measurement in the states since 1865.
