Hey all... I think I got'a plan -:)... tell me if this should work. I currently use my PC and TV's to monitor my cams.

Get this all up and running (I think the Mouse Remote and it's Software is configurable enough.)
Sitting on the couch watching TV, I hear something outside, switch to view the Cam(s), and if I wanted, use the Mouse Remote to tell the running Recording Software on PC to start recording.   Kind'a get the gist?

I think I follow.... and it sounds good. I run my camera setup through a video sender-receiver and an auto-switching RF Modulator. So if someone tresspasses into my perimeter detection system, the motion sensors turns on the correct camera(s), and starts the video recording (and/or emailing). The video (from the camera) is then automatically displayed on the living room TV [if it is on].

A computer Voice announces to both me and the outside that the activity has been detected. I use AHP and BVC the get the "restricted area warning" (which I really like).... there are other ways to accomplish that. You can see a video of the Voice warning at my BVC Fan Site.

Thank you for your reply!  To explain alittle more, right now I do not have the correct connections on my PC to use the 'Video Sender', I would just still use the camera receivers to view the cams. For the time being, just use the Mouse Remote, it's Software, and the PC Transceiver to accomplish this. I can configure a 'hot key' in the Recording Software to complete the command from the remote.   Still sound correct?

If you can't get the images (video) to the PC.... how will this work?

Goodmorning and thank you Dave for listening. I have receivers connected to the PC and the various TV's in the house. I have Video Recording/Monitoring Software on the PC. With the computer on and software running I wish to be able to tell the software to start recording remotely from the couch or another room should I be watching the cams on one of the TV's.

Also you have inspired me to do some homework on applying what you have done to my house.  I.E. motion triggering the appropriate camera upon detection.

It was X10 that inspired me! I think it was X10 that created the concept of motion detected video recording. One of the greatest benifits of an all X10 system... is everything intergrates so easily. And IMHO the automated motion activated recording is a must.

I think... if you use AHP (Active Home Pro) you with be able to find a third party software that can cause your non-X10 software to start recording your video.
