Has anyone experienced the socket rocket stop working after a power outage? I have had one do this, and my mom has had 2 do this. Where it will just stay on, and not respond to anything.

Don't know.. This is just a thought... Have you tried Re-Programming it?

Maybe it cooked something on the inside when the power "spiked" back on?

I'm sure someone on here will have a better answer!

Just a note,
Did you remove it from its original place and try it on another circuit/outlet and then try the reprogramming again. Also try to reprogramme it to another HC/UC from the original and see if that may help it come back to life.

If it is stuck ON when power is first applied. It is damaged and can not be fixed by reprogramming or cycling the power.

Socket Rockets are also known to have problems with bulbs burning out. The surge sometimes can also damage them and again they will be stuck ON.

Many of us old timers have had at least one of these go!
The surge when a incandescent bulb blows is to much for them  
Since switching to CLF bulbs I've yet to lose one. Even with a failed CFL in one ,that doesn't mean a CFL blowing won't cause this as well. I just haven't experienced it (YET)!
Doing a search for failed Socket Rockets most likely will turn up a few older threads on the subject!

Cool!! Thanks, and this ONE had an incandescent in it, the rest have CFL's, my mom's have incandescent as well.................. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

FWIW.
With either Socket Rockets or Lamp Modules: if you can't turn them OFF, completely disconnect them from power for about 10 seconds. When you re-connect them, if the light instantly comes back ON they are toast.

The traic in the unit has shorted and replacing the triac is the only fix. You might as well toss the the Socket Rocket. I don't know how those little Chinese folks get them togeather, they are an assembly nightmare inside. At $5 a pop they are not worth bothering with. Lamp Modules however are fairly easy to repair if you can solder and have some mechanical skills. A five amp 500V triac from Radio Shark will make it work.
