Desperate Appeal for assistance!
I recently installed AHP and plug-ins iwatchout, smart macros, onalert, my house online. (I had to d/l a new copy after reformatting HD) The installation went perfectly, all products registered fine. (I did have a little dispute over iwitness, as I didn't have the order # for that plug-in, but figured they could search it out, see the cams, mods, and software of the past I purchased and would soon receive a copy again-I didn't) After it was obvious no iwitness was in sight, I setup a couple of mods to run my Christmas lights I spent the night putting up. Setting the mods, (then changing that to a macro) to turn on at dark/off at dawn, I had a few flukes I attributed to interference (actually considering getting soaked for yet more $ for another transceiver), I noticed there was no place to enter my cams. Then to my surprise I noticed iwatchout was missing from the plug-in list, and on alert was unregistered! After cold/hot boots, removing other progs, clearing the cm, re-d/l mods/macros, rem all but the Christmas lites for mods, I noticed iwatchout & onalert at AHP start up will randomly either not be installed, or installed & unregistered for no apparent reason! This is the craziest thing! It makes NO sense. This program is completely USELESS to me without even the capability to control a simple task, w/ simple mods! Has anyone else experienced this strange behavior?Have any ideas, etc?  Also, on a more "rational note"(hope not!?)  Why can't I find anywhere in AHP to control, enter, or see I even have cams? I supposedly can upload thru my  house online, (& yes, I can view them on TV w/ a va11a,ux23a,vr31a,) but I need to view them on my PC. Please. any help would be greatly appreciated. This is getting nuts! (For info- my OS is xp, yes i tested ind. mods, etc.)
Thank-you for ANY help or insight on this!

Sounds like your HD is going!
Or you have a virus, Yes even after reformatting they can still linger :(
Run some utilities:
scandisk(chkdisk) with automatically fix file system errors and scan for and attempt to recovery of bad sectors checked (this will require a reboot and some time to complete)
then do  a Full virus scan
Boot to safe mode and see if this strange behavior still happens if it doesn't  but does still when booting in regular mode then something is in the boot sequence screwing things!
You can tell windows what to load at start up by running MSCONFIG
Just A few thoughts! ::) :'

Welcome to the forums!

I have had similar problems. My iwatch occasionally blinks out. I haven't identified a particular recovery path but usually a reboot does the trick. On the other hand, my OnAlert plugin disappeared the other day. I expect I'll need to reload it but haven't yet as I expect it to be a real Murphy ordeal in my case. i.e. I bought OnAlert from a third party X10 seller and the link says I need to upgrade when I try to use it. Upgrading doesn't work since I can't provide an X10 order number. I expect it to be a real Catch 22 saga with customer service. Since I really don't use the plugin, I haven't tackled it yet.

For you, I'd recommend reinstalling your plugins.

Whatever you do let up know what you try and if it works.

Thanks for the idea, but my HD is just fine. A new format as I said in my plea, was the cause of me needing new software. You should try using DiskKeeper instead of now defunct scandisk which is obsolete in xp. You'd need to analyse in defrag which has become a joke, and should be fixed or dumped like scandisk. Chkdsk is also a 'autorun at  win startup' option when working with the program DiskKeeper, which I recommend to everyone-its great. You can find it it in any big files d/l site like cnet, etc. It does the job of defrag  by 10 times, has great chkdsk  & other HD scan/fix options, and does all your partitions too (if u have them).
I use a virus scanner every nite for a scheduled full scan & have all my d/l's, Web sites, im progs, etc scanned automatically, but I really do appreciate the concern and response. the only thing ruining my day and PC is AHP plug-in's and ordering so many mods, etc. to get all the bells and whistles. I wish I could afford the old Hal2000 I ran yrs ago perfectly w/ NO probs, ever. That had voice, phone support, net updates down to the traffic. All the $ spent you'd think the software would at least run right. forums here should be about all the great things you can do with x10 to improve your life, save energy, and just plain have a ball with. I cant even run a cam on my PC with all the cams Ive bought from them! Sorry to complain, but x10 IS supposed to be Fun! not frustrating.
Thanks again,

Whatever you do let up know what you try and if it works.

Thank-you for the info! Sorry to hear your having similar probs, but at least I'm not alone :)! It's Crazy isn't it? Reboot occasionally brings OnAlert back in the list, but remains unregistered/unusable. Geez, do I ever know where your coming from with the catch 22!
I "had" iwitness, but they keeping sending me iwatchout- BUT the prob is, its a PKG deal (bundled). One setup file has AHP, onalert, AND iwatchout! The only plug-in's that  can work still, is the myhouseonline -which came separate in a zip (and smart macros).
I gave up after getting the same 4 d/l since Nov 11Th. What good are all the cams if I can't use them?...sorry..I'm so frustrated!  I even called them around 3-4am after bstruggling w/ the mess. Guess what?  No more 24 hrs either! Seems their budget cuts
are going to end up cutting a lot more.
With a product that seems to continually fail, no care to customer satisfaction or support, with all the money I'm sure everyone else spends on x10 cameras, mods, etc I don't see a very happy ending for anyone. X10 is such great fun with good working
 software
, to get into! The only time complaining here should be about some cool setup you just can't seem to get right! It should be about all the great time, energy savings, and well sharing the cool things you can do, and share other ideas with other
 x10 fans.
Thank-you so much for the response. (and the welcome to the forum:)) I will just re-install, but I wonder how often I'll bee doing that?  Pain in the butt re doing everything, guess Ill 'clone" one for easier reload...lol
If you find out anything, (and visa-verso from me) please keep me posted-this is really kinda nuts. Makes me feel like a sap for being a repeat customer. I thought we were the "good guys"...lol ...
Take care and thanks again!
