Do x10 camera have an IR infrared filter?
« on: December 19, 2008, 12:44:13 PM »

I just bought 4 of these to mount for better night vision:

and I will get even better night vision if I remove the IR filter, if there is one, and if it can be removed

Here is a good thread that deals with the IR filter: ]http://www.x10community.com/forums/index.php?topic=14031.0

Be sure to read the piece also linked: ]http://www.dennisjudd.com/2007/08/being_the_baby_of_a_geek.html

The IR illuminaters are really cool... but they work best with IR cameras. Also... human VISIBLE does a much better job of deterring crime. I like the IR cameras that glow pinkish red at night... it makes them easier to see. A camera won't deter crime... if it isn't seen (and therefore avoided).
