PalmPad Remote Control Problem

I have a PalmPad Remote Control, a Lamp Module, and the Mini Transceiver. The Lamp Module is set to #1 and the PalmPad Remote Control turns the lamp on and off as it should with the #1 button. But I can't dim the light unless I switch the slide control from 1-8 to 9-16. This isn't making sense to me. The lamp is on #1, the dimming should occur when the slide switch is at 1-8, not 9-16  Is my Remote control faulty?

Given the information, it sure sounds like it. Switch your lamp module to UC # 9, what happens then?

The dimmer control works from number 5-16 but not from 1-4. I'll use it as it is instead of having to pay shipping to send it back. Kind of disappointing though.

Really strange failure. If it is brand new, you might call X10 and and ask for a prepaid shipping label to send it back.
