Hi ,
I am using the X10 system in my house for many years , one of my friend who tought it was a very handsome and practical system decided to jump and installed a system in his house .
I am a newbie here but my house is using many , many modules ( about 35 ) , I thought I had seen everything up to when I went to his place saturday .
One of his light his dimming up and down all the time , I should add that there is about 300 watts of lights on that module , the lights come on and goes very bright and then the other way down to off and comes on again and again ...
I never saw that with my system , any idea ?

Note : he already changed the module and it does the same thing . BTW it's not a 3 way . It happen only at this module ...

What happens if he changes the house code of that module. Maybe you have a stuck button on a remote somewhere.

Do you use any software like AHP. You can check the activity monitor to see if the signal is sending.

 what type of light bulb are they? what type module is it? any more info??

The module is a lamp module and recently new?
Sounds like it has the new soft start feature so it is not instantly going on and off.
What is controlling it?
Normal type lights and not a CFL or low voltage type?
What is being used to control them. AHP with CM15A; a standalone controller or a remote and transceiver?
Any phase coupling or repeaters in the mix?

The module is a WS467 ( wall switch )

I just phoned him and ask him to unscrew 3 of the 6 lights , when he told me that right now there is no problem . I suspect the switch develop a heating problem , maybe .

He already tried in the past to change the module for another without result .

He already also tried in the past to rename it , letter and number . ( no result )

He is using the Active Home Pro . 

The lamps are normal incandescent .

He also checked for interference coming from another computer in the neighborhood and there was none .

Is this a new WS467?

Because it sounds like an old WS467, modified (hacked) for local dimming, with the button stuck down.

Brand new module , even the other he tried to replace it was new . With the same result ...

So , after I ask him to remove half of the load , nothing happened during 5 hours yesterday night , when he press on the button of the wall switch to shut it off going to bed it started again still with only 3 x 50 watts lights .... 

I am thinking of a bad ground maybe ?

Like Jsnlong said, look at the activity monitor in ahp to see what codes are being transmitted.  Also try clearing the cm15a then see if the problem still occurs.  If it doesn't then try download the timers and macros again.  If you don't have timers and macros still try clearing the cm15a.  Keep an eye on the activity monitor.
