Range Problem on second DS7000?
« on: May 01, 2009, 12:03:47 AM »

Hi - I have two DS7000 units.  The second one was a scratch and dent unit.  The first one seems to have excellent range, picking up a door sensor through several walls and doors, 3 rooms and down a staircase.  On the other hand, the second unit is having trouble picking up a DS10a half as far.

Does this sound like a defective unit or might there be some other issue?

Thanks,
Michael

There may be some other issue!
There are things that can hinder RF signals or you may have a bad DS10A.
Try moving the DS10A to see if the DS7000 sees it in a different location and try a new one in it's place.
If it works else where just not in the problem location then something is blocking the signals.

I have two DS7000 units...... the second unit is having trouble picking up a DS10a half as far.

Try setting up some of the same DS10A units [as on the 1st unit....] from the same location... as a test of course.
