I did not get asked for any Registration Code when I installed the Vanguard software. Now when I run the browser and click "Connect" it asks me for a user name, password, and ID. I do not know where those are entered or anything of the sort.

Should I uninstall it and try again?

Sue - call customer support. You ain't talking to X10 here.

I looked at a lot of posts over the past 2-3 days, and some of them said that posting questions/problems here worked better than calling customer support. I suppose I can do that now too. If any other user can help, please do so.

Tech Support is "sending me new software" which they hope will fix my driver and other problems. Sheesh! I just downloaded the software about 2-3 days ago. SUe

We as volunteers can not process things like Registration Codes.
When my AHP codes where never emailed to me. I also had to use Customer Service to get the needed codes.

This one is sorted out. The software installs two shortcuts.
1) One labeled "Vanguard" brings up the registration screen and then the window where you add cameras, etc.
2) The other one labeled "Vanguard browser" is not used other than by a remote user on another computer, so I really got confused there. Note you must "connect" both the #1 and #2 using the red buttons to see anything on the browser on another computer.

FYI, I had to switch to a different computer to get the software installed properly, and now I have some camera confusion. I have them set to units 1,2,3,4 but when I look at each camera image and do "motion" in front of camera 1, all I see is static on 1. I see myself repeated on cameras 2,3,and 4.

SO I will try again tomorrow to sort out this situation. 10AM till 6PM on this so far. I am pooped. Sue

Found it. The connector in the wiring between camera 1 and its plug-in was loose. When I tightened it up, that let the other cameras come thru ok. I then went and checked the other camera wiring and fixed them too. I think I might tape up that connection when I set them up in other rooms.
