Question about licenses.
« on: July 03, 2009, 11:08:49 AM »

I originally purchased an AHP package with the CM15A and some parts and the software but I didn't realize it didn't include smart macros. I got a hold of X10 sales and they said I could purchase the plug in for 49.99. I see they have some great deals going on now and found the COMPLETE software suite with a CM15A and a WS466 as well for 49.99 so I ordered it. Now here's my question.

Can I use my new CM15A with the total software package and keep the original CM15A as a backup and program it with the same license or will the original one not take the new license. I'd like to be able to keep the spare programmed with the total package just in case. I know this is a gray area and don't want to get into trouble for software violation but both CM15A are in my name.

Nope, you should be able to use new AHP in old CM15A also.
AFAIK the CM15A is not license nor serial number, nor authorization code conscience, .

Thanks. That's what I was hoping. Now if one dies I'll just plug in the spare and download macros.
