House Codes: Auto or Specific?
« on: July 15, 2009, 12:35:31 PM »

I only use House Code B.
Any advantage to using "Auto" instead of "Specific Code" for the Transceived House Code(s) , under Hardware Configuration?

Auto refers to the House and Unit Codes AHP shows when you create a new module.

Module codes are specific.   You have House Codes (A- P) and Unit Codes for a total of 256 possible codes.

If you restrict yourself to a single House Code (B) you are limiting your modules to just 16 possible unit codes.

"Auto" will tranceive any HC it receives. "Specific" will tranceive ONLY the House Codes you select.
i.e. If your neighbor was using wireless X10 remotes also, you would set AHP/CM15A to tranceive ONLY the house codes in your system.
