So, I've installed a couple XPS3 as single-pole, and have had no troubles. So, I ordered some more along with some XPSS to do some of the 3-ways in my house.
So far, there's always been a neutral wire in the box, ready to go, I figured 3 way wouldn't be a problem.
It appears from the wiring though that either I am misunderstanding the wiring, or the neutral wire is on the hot side, which means I can't X10 them?
Can someone with more knowledge than myself take a quick look at what's going on, and help me figure out what's going on here? I'm rather confused by the white wire in the second box. On the first box, it seems that the traveller wires are the pink and the black. If thats the case, then on the other box, the switched leg would have to be white, which doesn't match any of the other wiring in my house... so I figure I must be reading this wrong, or its wired funky. One would think that the travellers should be the white and pink, and the black should connect to the black in the first box (I'm assuming it's the switched leg to the lamp)
Thanks ahead of time.
The boxes with hot/neutral are big wirenuts with several other wires in it from the switches in the same gang. I opened up another 3 way, and it was wired similiarly in that the hot wire was in the same box as the neutral, and the other box did not have a neutral.
Can you wire the XPS3 the other way around with the hot/neutral being on the XPS3 side, and the leg being on the XPSS side? If so, any changes to the wiring?
