Power Flash

When I set up a power flash in AHP, should I use the Universal Module PUM01 or UM506 icon?  Does it make a difference?

A Powerflash is a PF284 or PSC01 Module. Takes a low voltage or dry contact switch closure input and sends an X10 control signal on the power line. Using the address set on the dials. Mode switch also can select All Lights On; All Units Off codes to be sent.

A UM506 or PUM01 is a Universal Module that has a set of output contacts. It has a sounder and a relay in it. Can be set to momentary output or continuous output. Also you can select Sounder Only; Relay only; Both sounder and relay.

Which module do you have. A Powerflash or a Universal Module?

I have a Powerflash.  APH doesn't have powerflash as one of the icons for setup.  At least I can't find it.

There is no setting for a Powerflash. AHP can not control it as it is a transmitter only.
The X10 signals it sends could trigger events in Macros or directly control modules on the same address as the Powerflash is set to.

I looked in AHP and also found no reference to a PowerFlash Module.

Do those Icons mean anything, or are they just for identifing the module?  For example, does a 2 pin appliance module AM14A react any differently in APH than a 3 pin AM466?

The AM14A was a Two Way device. It could be polled for its state.
The AM466 is just a receiver. In that case it could make a difference to which was picked.
Some just look like what Icon represents the device on AHP
Now the new Soft Start modules act more like the two way modules and maybe why X10 said call them that way.

I even looked in the Security Tab in AHP as X10 lists the Powerflash as a Security Module.

I was trying to think of what maybe a close choice for a PowerFlash in AHP; but so far no ideas.

There's no need to specify a device for a PowerFlash since it's only a transmitter, but an AM468 Appliance Module icon could be used for a visual display of whether it's On or Off.
