Why So Many Instructions Sent?
« on: December 07, 2009, 03:40:36 PM »

I'm not new to X10, just not a genius about troubleshooting. Well, actually realy far from a genius!

Can anyone tell my why so many codes show up on the log when coming from one key press on the palm pad remote?
There are only two entries when I use the AHP program to turn a light on or off.
Let me know if you need any further information. I just downgraded to AHP 3.204 a few minutes ago.

Thanks!

Regards,
Michelle

Do you have any other X10 Transceivers? Like a TM751
Do you have a repeater between the phases?
The Palm Pad sends the codes more than on time when a button is pushed and others have reported multiple commands from a Palm Pad.

Remotes send code for the press down and one for the release. also the longer you hold down the button will result in more codes seen.
The reason why you see fewer codes sent when you trigger from AHP is it is sending PLC not RF. PLC has fewer options built into the code.

Also if you have a repeater or other transceivers you'll see more. But I would expect you'd see more then you are if that was the case!
Hope this helps!

The HR12A PalmPad transmits a minimum of 6 RF repetitions for the briefest possible push of a button.  (If you don't have access to an appropriate RF receiver like a MR26A or W800RF32A, you can count the flashes of the PalmPad's LED to verify this.)  Transceivers like the RR501 or TM751 will not repeat sending the powerline code until at least 8 RF repetitions are received.

Based on recent posts, it would appear that the AHP CM15A must use a repeat count of 6 or lower.

Yesterday it worked.
Today it doesn't work.
X10 on Windows is like that.
