Rookie question about Macros
« on: January 22, 2010, 09:40:17 AM »

I have 2 lamps (A1 & A2) in my living room. I set up a basic macro to turn them on and off. When I activate the On macro on the computer, the switches turn on in the AH software but the actual lights do not go on. If I use my handheld remote (KR22A), they work fine. I want to use the macros with a timer for On at 5:00 and Off at 11:00 PM. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks.

Please tell us what you are using to control X10 modules?  If AHP, what version?

If you just want them to come on at 5pm & off at 11:00pm you should be able to use the timer feature on the modules.

then use the macro to turn them on or off outside of these hours.

I know it should be that simple.
I've set them up with just the basic timers, but they don't go on.
I can only activate the lights manually with a remote (and even then they sometimes don't work).
Super basic and super frustrating!
Help!

You still haven't answered the question Dan asked.

What version AHP are you using?

Some folks cannot get the timers to work with V3.236 and have reverted to V3.228.

Have you read the troubleshooting links posted in many of the threads here in the forum?

Have you tried to test one of the lamps on the same outlet as the CM15A?

Problem could be:

- phase
- signal suckers
- line noise
