Is the old CM11a recognized by the new ActiveHome Pro software.  If so, can the software be purchased separately?

Thanx

No The Active Home Pro software only sees the usb device CM15A . The SDK can control the CM19A as well

The software is only avalable bundled with the CM15A! ;)

Just to mention....  The new Activehome Pro software can read-in, and convert, files saved from the old CM11A's Activehome software.   That makes upgrading a little bit easier.
* Sears Home Control System, Radio Shack Plug 'n Power, NuTone, Stanley LightMaker, BSR, HomeLink.
* Tecmar Device Master, CP290 (LightHouse), CM11A (AH), CM14A (AH2), CM15A (AHPro).

Yes it can. But not well.

Many, including myself, had unsolvable, mysterious problems with the converted files that "went away" when everything was finally re-built from the ground up.

I suggest running in parallel, adding a few modules / features / etc... in AHP each day while disabling them in AH. I also recommend SAVING AHP under a different name each day, such as Setup101, Setup102, etc... in case something "mysterious" happens :o ::), it then becomes VERY EASY to back up a day or so.

AHP is a great hobby for retired folks with lots of free time on their hands who enjoy solving puzzles. :D

Oddly enough, when I upgraded to AHP/CM15A in July 2006 (because the PC I was using had one of those motherboards that gave serial ports hissy fits), I simply imported my old .x10 files from Active Home and AHP was up & running in less than an hour.

The very first thing I did with AHP was to create a keypress macro using A5 OFF that turns off all modules on Housecodes A, C & F.  I had lost the use of housecode A5 back when my old CP290 lost the ability to address A5 and had to change the bedroom's code from A5 to A6.
I don't SELL this stuff... BUT I sure do ENJOY using it!!!

Hello,

Just upgraded to activehome pro and the cm15a and am not doing too well. My computer does not recognize the  cm15a, saying that it is not connected (it is, and plugged in, and batteries, etc.)

Also, I have seen several times on this board that you can import activehome files, but when I try to open them, an error message says that I do not have the associated macro file. What gives?

Any help would be appreciated.

I'll second that!  I had nothing but trouble when I imported my CM11 files using the current  X10 USA software.  I tried fixing things that seemed to be a problem, but, in the end rebuilt the whole file.  Even then it didn't work correctly.  Somehow, I managed to introduce an error when trying to edit modules that would not go away wnen I uninstalled the software and scrubbed the program directories of all traces of X10.  I finally had to remove every bit of X10 from the registry.

At that point I switched to the Europe version of AHP, and at least the software works as it should.  The jury is still out as to whether my CM15 is working on all cylinders.
