Hey all-
I have one of the new soft start WS467 modules.  I've set "on instead of bright 100%" in preferences, installed it as a LM14A, and double checked the unit and house codes. 
I created a macro off a motion sensor to turn on a bathroom light at 18% during night hours for those late night bathroom visits.  Seems pretty neat to me.  However, when I manually turn on the switch, it's stuck at 18% bright.  I followed the ideas in the FAQ, but still no luck.
Did I miss something simple?  I guess if nothing else, I can swap out an old non-soft starting WS467 from somewhere where dimming is not needed...

From what I've read here, when you manually turn it on, it will start at the most recent dim level, and ramp up as you hold the button in.

I assume you mean "manually turn it on at the physical switch" and not "manually turn it on by clicking it in AHP"?

Perfect; that's exactly what I was looking for.  I also thought that maybe as the last step for the macro I could ramp it back up to 100% before it shuts off.  By that time, we would be out of the bathroom and the light wouldn't annoy anybody, though I suppose one day out of a million it will catch my wife off guard and she will curse both me and X10...  :-)

I dunno about AHP, but in Heyu it was recommended to send them xon and xoff (which is extended on/off) which is equivalent to 'xpreset 63' which is resetting the preset to 100%. When sending the switch an extended on versus a regular on, the light comes on almost instantly versus that long ramp rate otherwise.

We have a number of "runway" lights through out the house which come up dim when going to kitchen or bath at night. They are "prepped" by sunset and sunrise macros. At sunset the lights are sent an ON, BRI to 100% and then DIMS to 5% so they are not luminous. Motion at night brightens the lights to 30% or 40% then dims then back to 5% after the motion ceases.

At sunrise the lights are again sent ONs and brightened to 100% then sent an OFF (yes this is redundant, but what the hey). The routine then works for either the new or old style wall switches and lamp modules and the system still operates normally even if power is lost during the day.

I did in the second sentence of the post.

I don't use AHP so can't give a step by step (unless you use Homeseer), but at sunset I have the macro turn ON the lights and then dim the lights to an extinguished state - I use 5% in Homeseer.

The movement at night triggers another macro to brighten then lights to 50%. the a wait for 10 minutes and the lights dim back down to 5%.

At sunrise I brighten all the lights to 100% then send the OFF command so the next time they are turned on they will be at 100%.

The runway lights themselves are rope lights tucked up under the frame of the bed and rope lights tucked up under the kitchen cabinets.

I don't know if that clears up anything or not.
