hello i m an engineering student from INDIA 
for my final year project, my group decided take up a project on X10 communication
we have been taking help from a nearby institute. the insititute helped us in getting the transmitter and reciever modem and also helped in designing the transmitter and the reciever circuits. now its time for our report and i m need of the data sheets of the modem. the members of the institute are not providing us with it. we are just told the basic specifications of the modem.
using this modem we are able to send and recieve data signals,voice signals and control few devices.
its not a two way communication.
can you guys help me with this. please

What are you trying to accomplish with modems?

I am completely new to X10 myself but I have a feeling you may be in the wrong forum.

The X10 being covered here is a simple protocol transmitted over power lines to turn appliances on or off. I have never heard of voice being transmitted by X10. There are other more complex protocols such as LonWorks that can transmit voice over power lines, there is also a Sony Ericsson X10 smartphone. Neither of these have anything to do with our X10. Or maybe I am completely wrong......

yeah - what Brian said.  We'd be looking for part numbers like TW523, CM11A, CM15, AM466...

Look at www.x10.com and tell us if you see anything you recognize.

I think you may be in the right place if by PLC you mean Powerline Controller.

Now, are you still in India, or a student in the US or Canada?   If still in India, what's the electrical voltage and frequency there?  We need these answers to help you.  PLC is what the X10 system is for, but the technology varies by country outside of the US and Canada.

PLC-TX and PLC-RX means nothing to us without a REAL model number of the interfaces.

Exactly what are you trying to send with the PLC devices. X10 is strictly a protocol to control automation devices not sending random data over the power lines.
