EagleEye Motion Sensor not reliable
« on: June 16, 2010, 03:12:39 AM »

I bought an EagleEye Motion Sensor kit recently that came with a sensor chime and a transceiver. I have left all the default settings and connected a lamp to the transceiver and plugged in the sensor kit.

When the sensor detects the motion I see that sometimes turns on the light and I hear the chime do. But, other times I don't hear the chime just the light is turned on or nor the light or chime go off. I do see that the sensor detects the motion because i see the red LE light on the sensor blink when I walk in front of it. Does anyone else has encountered reliability issues with the sensor?

Since the TM751 Tranceiver is turning on and off with the sensors RF signal. It may not be getting the RF signal when it fails to follow the sensors signal. You may want to try a few locations for the TM751 and see if a reliable location can be found.

The chime module. That is controlled by an X10 power line signal. Sent by the TM751 Tranceiver. May not getting the signals reliably.
You probably have power line noise or the chime module is on the other phase of the homes wiring.
Try the chime module in a few different areas of the home and see if it works in some outlets.
If it does you have power line signal problems.
Let us know how moving the chime module to other locations effects its operation.
We then may have added data for you.

A few links to some troubleshooting tips.
