I purchased a CM19A during X10's Labor Day Special because I thought it would work as the computer interface module for Active Home software.  Did I make a mistake or is there a way to make this work?

Active Home Software for the serial interface CM11A will not work with the CM19A as far as I know.
It will work with the later Active Home Pro versions. As X10 now has some kits with it in them. Along with a TM751 to process the RF signals from the CM19A to send commands back on the power line.

Brian, Thank you for your help.  I have the AH Pro software on one of my computers.  Can I install the same software on another one?  Also, does the CM19A store a schedule or will I have to leave the computer on with AH Pro running in order to have my lights go on and off on a schedule?

It stores nothing and is a strictly RF send and receive only.
Computer 24/7

I believe AHP 3.271 is what is needed for the CM19A.
We may have to find you drivers for it if your AHPs included drivers don't work.

You will need a TM751; RR501 or an X10 Security Console [those I can remember anyway] to receive the RF command signals and place it on the power line.

Also you will receive no power line signals back to the CM19A like a CM15A can do. RF senders like a palm pad remote or motion sensor could be received as the CM19A also has an RF receiver in it.

OK, the TM751 came bundled with the CM19A and AH Pro software.  Now I see that's not what I wanted.  Will X10 take a return on this?

Probably, they seem to have a fairly liberal return policy. Partly (IMHO) because their ads make set-up sound so easy, when in most cases it is not.
