ELK-73 Echo Speaker on a J-Box
« on: October 29, 2010, 05:54:54 PM »

I use unused telephone lines in my house for text-to speech announcements with old computer speakers.

If the computer speaker is powered I plug it into an appliance module, and the audio line into a homemade 3.5mm to rj-11 adapter.

I tried to use an un-powered speaker yet which would require a way to cutoff the audio in the signal path when not in use. For this I was thinking of using a universal module...

However, if I were to use ELK-73 speakers mounted directly over the J-box containing the unused telephone line, how would I cutoff the audio signal with an x10 module inside of the telephone jbox?

I don't know if you've seen this video:
