Kept wondering why my outside cam would not work when ever I have it plugged up to the outside outlet and I could not switch my 3 cams. So I did an experiment and plugged my outside cam  and extension cord inside the house and it worked I can switch all 3 cams. So my Question is why does this happen and is there a fix for this ?? Why can I not use the outside outlet ?? Thanks for any help !!!

It may be on a separate phase in your house wiring. Do you have a phase coupler/repeater? Also, I had to recently replace my outdoor GFCI outlet as it must have been 30 years old and it had bad contacts.

Noise, signal suckers, and phase coupling, all nemisis of X10. All fixable.

Let me ask the obvious question ... have you checked the outside outlet and does it work?
