IR34A keyboard

I've had this IR34A remote for several months.  The first one had some buttons that flat out didn't work and I got it exchanged.  The replacement is better but still has problems with some buttons.  I am always having to press some of them multiple times before I get a response.  Am I the only one that finds the buttons terrible.  I have gone back to the manufacturer's remote sometimes because of frustration.

I was able to program the unit to work with all my electronics.  So that's not an issue.  If I have to exchange it again, will I get one that works reliably?  Is there any easy way to transfer all my programming into a new unit?
