I invested in a Marmitek X10 solution just under 12 months ago, I purchase many Marmitek X10 Appliance Modules (AM12U/AM12W), its been working very well, but over the last few weeks, the appliance modules have been failing, I now have FOUR failed Marmitek X10 Appliance Modules. When I mean failed, the relay doesn't switch or it switches and switches back, either do not control any applianes plugged in or wired to them.

I'm a little concerned that I purchased probably a total of 20 x Marmitek X10 Appliance Modules, at a UK cost of £25 each, and so far a total of five have failed so far.

My warranty period is almost up, so anymore that fail, and I'll have to foot the bill to get these replaced.

Any one got any comments to the longetivity of how long these devices should last?

All I do, is turn on the device once at 12.30am and off at 7.30am (Economy 7 in the UK), everyday.

It's not asking a lot.

What type of load do you have on them and how close to there maximum rating are the loads?

I am sure others that have used them may have added thoughts on them.

of all of them that have failed, one has a dishwasher attached, 1500-2000w but the others that have failed have items like a desktop fan (50 watts), tubular heater (150w), ballast units for flouresecent tubes (54w).

So apart from the dish washer which is high but within tolerence (3kw/13A), but I'm not switching this load on every day, I just use it to turn the socket on-live, at midnight, so someone can then set the dishwaster manually to come on and use the cheap electric on Economy 7 which starts at 12.30 midnight.

The others that have failed turn on/off desktop fans (50 watt), tubular heater (150 watt), ballast units for flouresecent tubes (54w) every day (on/off).

These just don't seem very reliable (at an expensive £25), which is what I've seen of in-expensive 99p timers in DIY shops now made in China.

To have invested in this x10 equipment, and have massive failures of Marmitek (which I thought was a good brand), rather than the un-branded cheaper equivalents.
