As y'all are aware X10 isn't plug and play.  I have some receptacles in the house that seem to be able to send commands to any other receptacle but some can't send to all of the others.  I'd finally found one for my TM751 in the garage with the door opener of all places that it could send commands to any modules in the house and receive from all my wireless remotes and motion detectors.  Well I just got an active home pro CM15A and got it programmed and took it out there and of all things I have to be standing almost in the garage for it to pickup the signal from my remote.  Has anyone else noticed this?

I have noticed the CM15A takes commands from the wire as well as the antenna so I'm thinking I'll put the TM751 back in the garage and let it receive the commands from the wireless devices and when it sends them out over the wires the CM15A will see them and start the macros.  Only problem is I was always disappointed the TM751 didn't pass on the 1 ON command over the wiring as well as acting on it itself.

1) Take a wire coat hanger, straighten it out.
2) Measure approx. 18.5", mark, cut
3) Tape beside CM15A antenna.

Easiest fix without voiding the warranty. Plenty more available, search for Passove Antenna Mods, or just regular CM15A mods.

The TM751 should pass a unit one command back to the power line and turn its internal switch on or off.
If this is a recent date code TM751 they do have a much better receiver in them than the CM15A. Funny thing is they both use the same IC receiver chip.

Thanks guys I've looked up antenna lengths for 310Mhz and I'm moving up to your suggestion Anthony.  I've tried 9 1/8" and I think it is better.  I'm trying the same 11 7/8 that the tm751 has right now.  I'll try it some tomorrow when it's warmer.  If that don't work I'll do the full 18.5".  I'm using a piece of bare aluminum wire about 10 gauge I guess tie wrapped to the CM15A's antenna.

As usual I found some more problems.  Turns out my receptacle I thought worked great doesn't do one of the Christmas lights.  Hummm, seems last year I did use a radio shack X10 compatible table top timer/controller for those.  That might be a better place for the CM15A as it's near my recliner where I can plug up the laptop to make adjustments.  Unfortunately none of the receptacles near my desktop computer control many units.

Brian, your right guess it was a fluke with testing that got me thinking the TM751 didn't pass the unit 1 code to the power line.  I've confirmed you are correct.

I've got all my devices on D and all the outside motion detectors on C.  I might leave the TM751 in the garage to receive the C codes from the motion detectors and pass them via power line to the CM15A.  I think the CM15A with antenna mods will cover the inside of the house for the remotes which I'll leave on D.
