WS467 makes noise and lights blink
« on: December 06, 2010, 09:19:48 AM »

Anyone knows why my WS467 makes noise when I turn my lights ON and why the light is blinking (at a rapid rate but if you look closely you can see it)?

I got 4 of them and I tried on various locations around my apartment all result the same way.

Regular incandescent type bulbs?
CFL,CCFL and Low Voltage lights should not be used with a WS467.
For two reasons. The WS467 steals it needed power through the load and most CFL,CCFL and Low Voltage lights are not made for dimmer circuits. Dimmable CFLs also don't work again because of the stealing power through the load.

The photo of the CFL confirms why the thing is buzzing and pulsing.
The WS467 will not work with that type of bulb.

I have not seen any that work with the two wire WS467.
If someone has a bulb that does I am sure they will post it for you.

Are the ones you used even rated to be dimmed?
Most are not and may have a warning on them to that effect.

Turbo,  The WS467 (and WS12A) is for incandescent bulbs only. Is there an incandescent "energy saving bulb"?

If you have a neutral wire in the WS467 wall box you could replace it with a WS13A which do play well with CFLs. You could also replace the WS467 with a standard wall switch and use Socket Rockets in the fixture itself to control the CFL (I use Socket Rockets on CFL bulbs and LED bulbs and for the most part, they play well togeather).
