AHP 3.302 crashing on exit
« on: January 11, 2011, 01:14:34 PM »

I installed AHP 3.302, and now it is crashing on exit.
Seems to be only happening on XP SP3 (two different PCs), but not on my Win7 Pro 64-Bit.
That one crashed when I tried to exit without saving the AHX file (I made some changes for testing, but didn't want to save them).

Hey Noam,
an idea...
get a copy of Mark Russinovich's (sp?) Filemon (from the microsoft site; technet I believe).
It's free and is a great tool.
Install it, run it, then exit AHP. See if the new AHP is looking for a file I can't find.
You might also, just for grins, try to stop the X10 service then immediately close AHP.
I'll keep thinking about this one. I have not upgraded yet.

Filemon has now been replaced by Process Monitor.
I can't figure out how to make it NOT capture everything.

Has anyone else been brave (stupid?) enough to try 3.302 yet?

If I'd been home I'd be suffering along with you!
I was going to put it on this XP notebook but decided to wait till I got home!
I've moved this thread here and stickied it so it is more noticable!
If it only fails on exit I guess that better then on start! ::) :'
Any other issues yet?
Not that this one isn't a big enough issue!

So far, one other issue:
We are supposed to be able to indicate if a lamp module or wall switch is a "new" (softstart) one or an "old" (non-softstart) one.
So far, this isn't sticking. It changes back to the "new" one as soon as I move to another module.
It seems that AHP is now sending both "regular" and "extended" commands to the lamp modules, too.
I REALLY wish they would have told us more about the changes, and tested it properly before posting it for download.
Hopefully, they will figure out what's wrong, and fix it quickly.
