I've read posts by many here discussing the use of batch files, problems with batch files executing and so forth.  I've read a file articles online and have a basic idea of just what a batch file is.

So, what are many of you using batch files for in relation to AHP?  If I'm missing more options or convenience I'd like to know so I can learn more and begin utilizing batch file commands in my setup.

Thanks!

I use batch files to trigger sound files to play for certain x10 events, real  good for security sensor trips.
Also to fetch my weather, read my new email to me and open programs.
I also trigger a batch file every hour to tell me the time (virtual clock) with out the use of a x10 address being sent.
