XPCP

How can you tell if the XPCP passive phase coupler is working or not. I used to industrially install Leviton CCS some 20 years ago and recently found a use for x10 SmartSwitches once again. The coupler is placed across circuit breakers in a 230 volt single phase system and theoretically should couple the signal so that signal is seen at zero crossing on either leg of the electrical system.

Any way to test it to find out whether it's functional or just plain DOA?

I take it you don't have any signal testing gear from when you did install the CCS modules.

Well if you could find a switch that worked with the XPCP connected that didn't when it was not. Would be a rough test.

One thing that has probably changed in twenty years. Is the amount of electronics in homes that absorb power line signals or make line noise that kill signals. That you didn't have to consider twenty years ago.
