Triggering an X10 Macro when DS7000 Security Breech is detected
« on: January 21, 2011, 01:35:32 PM »

I have a PS561 X10 Security System.  I've tried to start an AHP macro using the Blinking lights feature of the PS561 and am unable to get this to work.  Any suggestions here would be most helpful.  Here are the details.  PS561 is set to HC E and will blink lights on a lamp module set to HC E.  Using the same logic I created an Activehome Pro macro triggered by an E1-On command that turns on all lights on HC M and N and turns off several appliance modules for fans, etc.  This macro works fine using a palmpad controller to activate it.  It won't work however, when the PS561 alarm is triggered.  Can someone explain how I might accomplish this.  Since I have several house codes and relays on some of them, it doesn't work to simply rely on the on/off sequence that the PS561 sends out.  That is why I tried creating a macro to do the functions I wish triggered by the E1 ON command.  It seems like that should work when the PS561 sends the ON/OFF since the macro is only triggered by an E1 ON and should ignore the E1 Off also sent by the PS561.  Ideas?

You'll need Bill's Voice Commander.  BVC can recognize all lights on/off commands.  You can set bvc to turn on a dummy module in AHP and send an email.

Actualy you don't need BVC!
The security console doesn't send a simple on or off signal it sends alllightson and  allunitsoff
But if you want the added option of voice commands then thats the program to look at.
If not check out X10SW

For my setup BVC was used.  I have a DS7000 with the security light set to E9.  My thought was I could create a macro with E9 as the trigger that would send a text or email to me via AHP.  Bill form BVC and Dave_x10 explained that AHP does not recognize the All lights on/off signal from the DS7000, but BVC does.

I set a listener in BVC to hear the HC E All lights on, which would then turn on a dummy appliance module in AHP.  I use the dummy appliance module as the trigger for my email or text.  This gives me notification when my alarm goes off.

Of course, Tuicemen is the expert here, so I may be missing something.  I believe he's saying that BVC isn't needed but you would at least need X10SW.  I already had BVC and what I'm doing works for me.

Thanks to all of you who replied to this post.  The X10SW software worked fine to make this happen.  Great forum with lots of expertise!  Thanks again!

Not to take anything away from BVC but I created X10SW before Bill added the option to BVC.
For users that just wish to add this feature to their setup it doesn't make sense to set up a voice activation program.
For users that have BVC or PCC the option is there, How ever new users would have nag screens until a donation was made.
X10SW is 100% free!
