SC12A...door&window sensors
« on: March 18, 2011, 12:53:27 PM »

Just stumbled upon.... The new SC12A  console... comes with THE OLD DS10A....??? Now, where , then, the new DS12A come in????? Are these supposed to be bought separately??  The 10A's  are NOT TAMPER proof, I wonder what the others have received  with purchase of the new SC1200 system?

My system came with the new sensors, but I have found that they are a challenge to mount on curved door moldings.  I'm the only one that would tamper with them so being tamper proof is not an issue.  I just ordered another system to install in my girlfriends house.  It has the older door sensors.  I may "borrow" a few of those sensors if they look like they will work better on my doors.  I also think the older sensors use AA batteries vs. AAA on the new sensors.  Perhaps the AA batteries will last longer.

The kits and package price have changed a few times.

My kit had DS12A Door Window. MS18A Motion Sensor. KR32A Keyfob.

Then some kits had the DS12A replaced by the older DS10A and the rest was the later parts.

Then some kits had DS12A and MS18A replaced by DS10A and MS10A.

Today it is DS10A, MS10A and KR10A. Replacing the DS12A, MS18A and KR32A

Only thing not changed so far. SC1200A Console, SH624 Remote and MM024 Decals.

The other option with the DS12A is use the included magnet and add a external magnetic switch. Connected to the terminal block of the DS12A.
Since the internal magnetic switch and the external magnetic switch register as separate zones. One could just register the external one. Or that is the theory.  ;D

I may get a few DS10s from an EBay dealer as my doors also have curved mouldings.
