Installation errors
« on: June 21, 2011, 01:34:34 PM »

Hearing you released a new version of active home I downloaded the installer and attempted to update me installed version, 3.1.x. The core application installed and drivers seemed to install. The installer returned a your application has been installed notice. When i clicked on the ok button i got a storm of GLJXX.tmp.
I have deleted all GLJ references in the registry but that only changed the XX identification.
Consequently, neither my original install, I tried to revert, or mt new install work and the 25 or so modules I have are dead.
I checked the general internet but no solid directions available.
Please, how should I resolve this issue?

We probably need a little more information to be able to help you out.
1. What version did you have before (if you don't know, then perhaps you can at least estimate how long ago you had installed the previous version)?
2. what types of modules do you have (specific module numbers will help)
3. Are ANY of your modules working? Are they working only partially (ex: you can turn them off, but not on - or vice versa)?

Sorry don't remember the version number and as it overwrote the installed working version.....
I am not sure what you mean by modules and why that wouldn't allow the software to install or boot.
I have a CM15a as the control module, does that help?

Again, the progression is.
I run the update or net install (any version install at this point).
I goes through the driver install part, no problem.
I get the screen that says the install was complete.
I select ok, without doing anything else.
Then I get a series of error windows that display the error.
If I close one window another pops up with the same error, about 5 or 6 in all.

What version of Windows are you installing this on?
Have you tried uninstalling, rebooting, and then reinstalling?
Are you installing it using an account that has Administrator permissions on the PC?

Are you sure you have the latest installer (v3.315 as of this posting), from here:
http://www.x10.com/support/support_soft1.htm

Since you are having problems, I suggest you try using the full installer, labelled "Activehome Pro(SW31A)", and NOT the updater.

The installation is W2k.
I tried to uninstall and reinstall and uninstall with hard boot and reinstall and uninstall and clean registry and reinstall and uninstall and install older versions. I tried the updater and the full install. Maybe you can forward a link to the full install. Maybe this is an issue with the downloading caching?
Yes, i am using an administrator account.
Oh, i even tried to boot safe and uninstall and reboot and reinstall.
I am not sure i have the right version of installer but i did download it from the website you have listed.

I know this is not an in line question but in this update do i have to recreate all times are macros?
