FYI - I still want to pursue fixing the VA12A problem but I decided to purchase a security DVR which will give me remote video monitoring capability plus.  As an off shoot of it will want to investigate coding an interface between it and AHP so if x10 alarm triggers then recording on standalone DVR will take place.  It does have record on camera motion detect but it's that challenge thing.  So basically I'm setting up three standalone operable systems but desire to integrate (The DS7000, AHP, and DVR).  The DVR is quad channel video and audio for 170$ w/500 gig drive.  Not bad considering the VA12A was 69 bucks.  Again I do want to still work with the team and try to fix the original issue.

I know that this is an older thread and I have also seen many references to CPU utilization and the Camera software... But...

I have also experienced this issue.  Just purchased a FloodCam and wireless night watch Cam with the VA12A.  After the software (iWatch) installation and plugging in the VA12A my CPU resources went through the roof.  As soon as I unplug the VA12A, everything goes back to a nice normal load on the machine.  My AHP machine is a DELL Pentium IV 2.4Ghz, 1GB RAM running AHP 3.316, MyGarage, OnAlert, ActivePhone, SmartMacros, MyHouse online, iWatchmobile Pro, BVC, WeatherAloud.  Prior to the installation of iWatchmobile and the VA12A drivers; my CPU varied between 0% to 17%.  After installation of iWatchmobile and the VA12A drivers with the physical connection of the VA12A, my CPU goes to the range of 79% to 100% and stays there  >*<; but as soon as I unplug the VA12A from the USB port the CPU goes back to the 0% to 17% range.

Very interesting.  ???

I thought that this maybe a driver related issue or something with the VA12A USB.

Brian mentioned to lower the resolution on the video settings.  This actually did drop my CPU utilization down to the 38% to 50% range.  Which is definitely a start and so far the only thing that helped.  So with that said, is there video streaming going on all the time, behind the scenes?  If so, is it possible to change this "streaming video" to "on demand" instead?
