Set SC9000 not to pass RF commands to PL ?
« on: July 04, 2011, 04:28:52 AM »

Hi,

does anyone know of a way to tell the sc9000 alarmsystem NOT to pass on normal external RF commands to powerline ?

I have alot of double commands on the powerline causing problems I'd like to get rid of.

The second device in my house is a cm15pro with AHP

I live in europe, but that shouldn't matter in this discussion.
regards,
HerrJansen

The SC9000 looks like our SC1200A. With the proper power and RF frequency for your country.

I know our SC1200A passes the standard X10 RF signals back on the power lines. It also has no option to turn the transceiver off.
The SC9000 Manual doesn't show any options to disable it either.

The SC1200A is also not polite and will step on any other power line signals from other controllers.
It looks like the SC9000 may also be impolite.

The CM15A here and your CM15Pro should be polite. So that maybe why you are seeing duplicates. They wait until the power lines are clear then send the power line signals.

If you temporarily disable the CM15Pro's tranceiveing in the Hardware Configuration screen. Do the duplicate signals go away?

Thanks Brian,

I could actually see that without transceicing of the cm15 there were no duplicates anymore.

So I need to get somebody to make the Alarmsystem to not transceive RF to PLC at all....

If there is to be NO PLC, you could just use a "noise filter" like the XPPF (http://www.x10pro.com/pro/pdf/xppf.pdf) but I don't know the model for your country.

:) I thought of this already.... but I need the sec system to _send_ PLCs.

I might just look for another alarm system, that has X10 PLC sending capabilities but does not act as a tranceiver at all. thnx
