kr22a xmitt distance
« on: September 18, 2011, 03:13:12 PM »

Good Morning to all

New to the x10 thing but realize the potential.

Just received a couple of wall switches (XPS3) and a TM751A and a KR22A remote.

One slight problem, the wireless distance is about 10ft.

Do you think this is typical for a KR22?

in your opinion what wireless pad hasthe best distance and what would that be.

the 120 lineside xmitting is rock solid having not missed one switch event, just that wireless thing is a pita

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

What you see is a little less than I get with a KR22A - about 20' usually.

The Palmpad HR12A(?) usually has 30' or so. The Stick-a-Switches can have very short range, especially if mounted at 90° to the receiver.

You can increase the range of any fixed transmitter and of some receivers by following the ancient art of X-10 Feng Shui described here...

I have 2 SH624's, 2 KR10A's, and a CR12A. All of them will control my PS561 or TM751 from at least 70' to 80' away, never tried any farther. Don't have any of the newer slim remotes.

You might want to check the batteries, they may be getting weaker
