Help first attempt at programming for X10 CM11A
« on: November 01, 2011, 06:07:09 PM »

Hi,
I have a CM11A serial, connected to Win 7 via USB to serial connector.

Using the ActiveHome software everything functions as it should.

I'am writing my own software to communicate to the CM11A, however I have encountered a problem with the checksum return from the controller.

I send via the serial port; PC > 0x04 0x66

And should expect a checksum as 0x6a as documented elsewhere.

However I receive back the checksum 0x60 everytime, even after several writes to the com port.

Any pointers/thoughts would be most greatfully received.

Many Thanks

Did you set the clock first.
I understand it will just send set my time requests until it is satisfied.

Hi,

Yes, the clock was set by the Activehome software and the CM11 was no longer polling for this info.
