Newbie with a BIG problem

Hi All,
Not real sure if i'm posting in the correct place but here goes.
I just purchased the 4 camera system that x10 offered. upon loading the software,my computer crashed and now will not even restart at all.
All I get is an audible beep every 5 seconds or so and a black screen. Does anyone have any clues? I am at a total loss. Please help if possible.

Did you plug in a USB video receiver?
if so, unplug it, and try rebooting again.

I think I got it figured out. Took out the graphics card and i can hear the hard drive working and I didn't before.
Believe it was just total coincedence that the graphic card decided to go at that time. Thanks for the response and I will be back.
