Hi all,

I created a simple Dusk/Dawn timer to turn on/off a light outside my house, but it doesn't seem to work consistantly. I have an outside light that is plugged into a socket rocket. The light will turn off and on via a remote or by clicking the module switch in AHP. I can't for the life of me figure out why the timer does not work properly.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Can you show us the timer?   Perhaps it's not constructed properly.
I don't SELL this stuff... BUT I sure do ENJOY using it!!!

If you are using a Socket Rocket, your module is configured wrong. SRs are ON-OFF ONLY. But you have the SR in AHP configured as a dimmable wall switch, so the command AHP is sending to the Socket Rocket is a command for a dimmable light switch. Re-configure the switch in AHP as a Socket Rocket or an Appliance Module.

Dave, THANK YOU! I can't believe I didn't see that before.

I will see if that works when I get home.

Hi Dave,

So I set it up a test timer to run for a couple of minutes. It turns on fine, but will not turn off. I also ran the dusk-dawn timer and the same thing happened. Again, if I click on the switch the lights turn on and off fine.

I am using AHP 3.318 with a CM19A.

This is really frustrating for something so simple. Any other ideas you might have a greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

Sorry, I miss read your original post. When you said "I have an outside light that is plugged into a socket rocket". Ithought you probably meant A "Super Socket" instaed of "Socket Rocket" which is an easy mistake due to the similar names. I continued the confusion when I told you to configure  "Socket Rocket or Appliance Module".

If the light is truely a Socket Rocket and not a Super Socket then the ON but no OFF might be noise IF you are using a CFL or LED bulb. (the bulb when on makes so much electrical noise, the OFF signal can not get through). If the bulb is standard incandescent...I dunno.

Thanks Dave. Yes, it is a regular incandescent bulb that is screwed into a Socket Rocket.
