Anybody else ever had that happened after a Windows update?
Have not had this, but have DEFINATLY had Windoze updates mess up my settings and the computer.

Yeah, that's Microsoft for you. They put out upgrades that are not 100% tested that are replaced by another upgrade that does funny things.

People forget about system restore... when it should be the 1st thing they think of. Particularly if you aren't running the latest greatest PC. Older units may not react perfectly to a new update. So a simple shutdown can cause major problems. Restore is perfect for times when you don't know what is wrong.
