X10 to DALI / DSI or switchDIM flourescent ballast
« on: September 12, 2012, 03:14:48 PM »

Hi

I hope this is in the right place

I'm thinking of installing T5 perimeter lighting in my lounge and would like to install an X10 set up for home cinema mood lighting. I'd like to be able to dim the T5 flourecents with dimmable ballasts. Now I know the easiest way is with switchDIM ballasts; a retractive switch is used to ramp the dimming up and down and short push for on/off.

What I'd like to know if there is anyway of X10 controlling this or am I better of with a more simple IR receiver circuit for the T5's in conjuction with an X10 IR receiver to control the X10 devices.

TIA

Dan

I suggest you buy one XPDI3 to control the dimmable ballests. You would also need a PMC01, or PHC01, or PHK05, or PHK04 to control the XPDI3. http://www.x10pro.com/pro/catalog.html
