Airsight Cameras Are Extremely Slow

Alright, this has been bothering me for a while now...

I have two AirSight XX41As that have so much lag (both developed at the same time, both lagging with similar speeds). I know it's not the router, because I can serve some of the same files off of a server I have with lightning speed. Whereas the cameras have a hard time serving static resources. I'm also curious if anyone can tell me about the load capacities of these cameras. How many streams can the camera support while still keeping some sort of fluidity about it.

Here are some statistics from fiddler of a test I just did. I requested the English String file (string.js) from each camera and my server, and here's what I got.

As you can see, it seems like the Cameras seem to have a problem reading their memory... the time it takes from when it gets the request to when it starts a response is disappointingly long. Camera 1 was wired into a gigabit switch at the time of the test, so it's not the wireless's fault. I know quite a bit about technology and computers, so don't be afraid to throw technical words at me. I hope to get this resolved very soon. It's really irritating me.  B:(

Um.... you do know that X10 (as we knew it) and the entire AirSight brand is now totally obsolete and there is no "official" support ??  They shut their doors in the summer of 2013 with no warning; just poof, gone.  Took all their AirSight stuff with them.

Another company bought the X10 name, but it ain't the same folks.  As far as I know, I don't know if they plan on reviving the AirSight line.

In fact, I was going through all my bookmarks and was going to delete the bookmark to this forum, as it's been dead since X10 shuttered its door.  I was surprised when it connected to a live site.

Yes X10Pro-USA has slowly been bringing the servers back on line.

The Forums and wiki are back. The software and registration servers are not yet. Some of the graphics in the wiki have links to the old servers. So some of the graphics are missing.

In their About Us page of their sales site. They indicated. A new and improved Air Sight Line of cameras is in the pipe line.

I am well aware of X10's status. Which is why I came to the community forums. It seems to be the best chance I have at getting support. I was also hoping a few ex-10 developers were still lurking around to shed some light on the subject.

I've looked at the code in the firmware, but I'm afraid to change anything or load a foscam version. I don't want to brick the camera.

I hear ya....I, too, was going to try to load foscam firmware, just as a "let's see", but I was afraid I'd brick my camera.  I have 7 Airsights,  a few PTZ outdoors and a few indoors, the fact that they are a year old and are now obsolete, per se, left a bad taste in my mouth for x10.  I thought/assumed they'd have a little more consideration for their customers by releasing an "Effective so-and-so date, X10 will no longer be in business.  If you have problems/questions please contact ____ " type of release. Not just finding out by my ip cams no longer being visible online and doing an online search after not being able to log in to X10.  What if I had been out of town, depending on my X10 cams ?  My home automation system used to be full of x10 products, but over the years I upgraded to Insteon.  So that means they'll be going belly up soon also... :-\

But you are right; when I was setting my cams up for the first time, I got the most help from users that have experienced the problems I had, mainly the whole port forwarding issue.

Users with any Airsight cameras bought from the bankrupt X10 WTI should not be expecting support from the new owners.
They have no record of you.
I had purchased some outdoor cameras similar to the X10 ones directly from the manufacture, these also have been discontinued and no support is given for them :-[ :(


The new company has stated they plan to introduce a new Airsight line, these will not be manufactured by the same company so firmware most likely not be compatible with the old ones.
