Remote control: how to assign to switches

Greetings,

I bought a house that is equipped with x10 dimmer switches. To be honest, I didn't know x10 existed before buying this house so it's completely new to me.

The remote can control most of the switches but some of them don't work (we moved some switches around the house).

I'm trying to figure out how to assign a dimmer switch to a remote number but I can't find any help in the user manual.
Even when press "All on" or "All off" those that are x10 and not configured on the remote won't react to the command.

Hope someone can help me.

What is the X10 Model Numbers of all the devices?
Addresses do not change in the switches unless you reset the House Code and Unit Code Dials or the Dials are intermitant.
You may have a power line signal problem. Where the Transceiver {TM751 or RR501} that takes the X10 RF signals from the remote and sends them on the power lines.
If you found a X10 controller like a CM15A or a Security Console. They can also resend the X10 RF commands from the remote to the wall switches.

If the switches are made by X10, the House Code and Unit Code address dials are under the switch plate. If the switches are made by Smarthome, ACT, PCS, etc with no HCUC dials, the switches usually have to be put in a "learn" mode and the desired HCUC be sent one or more times by the controller. You would need the switch instructions or at least a manufacturer and model number for more help.

But as Brian pointed out, you may (likely) have a powerline noise problem and his troubleshooting links should help.
