Periodically (seemingly in the fall and spring) X10 things mysteriously stop working abound the house. Most times I can trace it to a noisy something or other and regain reliability. But the oddity is the gizmo putting out the noise had always put out noise, but suddenly the noise became a problem where it had not been. I saw this occure many times and in at least three different homes from florida to Michigan to Indiana.
My thought is the power companies do something in prepartion for the season change (and power demand) which changes the overall line impedance, consequently effecting X10 communications where border line(?).
It is happening here now, so this is just general musings and verbal head scratching.
