SS13A Issue
« on: March 24, 2015, 12:24:46 AM »

I have three TM751s in the house on C, D, and E house codes, respectively. I decided to replace an RW684 (battery life and signal strength issues) with an SS13A. I can't get anything to respond to E1 or E3 from the SS13A.  The RW684 was working on E1. A KR19A works on E1. A CR12A works on E1 and E3. I tried a second SS13A, same results. I have tried shifting all of the E devices (and all the transmitters) to house codes A and then B with the same results. Is there a problem with SS13As?

In my (limited) experience with it, the SS13A has extremely poor range. You might try this...http://davehouston.org/X10_feng_shui.htm

Try the passive radiator in the link Dave provided.
Both the SS13A and SS15A have a reported poor RF signal range.

If you have mounted SS13 near a wall corner or on top of a metal wall corner then it will  not work at all. My experience is: install it away from the corner and it works fine. Mine have been working for few years. I have not tried " E" code. Once in a while I do run into a problem because someone presses the top button twice within 5sec or so and it changed the code. Reprogramming fixes that.
I use code F and at times it happens, while reprogramming, even though I think I have set it for F it is actually E or G. And that is always because of the speed of the blinks that I lose count. But in the end I get it to work.

If you still have an issue then install receiver/transmitter, for range, with the same code.
Hope it helps. Good luck.
