New PAM06 and PAM05 (2015 Review)
« on: October 16, 2015, 05:29:54 PM »

These new appliance modules have AGC to help with signals in noisy situations.
I've tested with moderate noise and they work well. :)%
I had thought these would come with a less noisy relay as Authinx stated they wished all new devices with the old relay to receive these.
However the web page makes no mention of this and I was disappointed that the loud click was still present. :(
I asked Authinx about this and was told it is still there plan to incorporate this into all modules however cost is a over riding factor right now.
They opted to go with a reliability fix for now and add the cosmetics later. :(
I'll continue to test these in noisy situations to see just where they start to stop working reliable.
How much noise did it perform well under you ask?
Using a XTBM signal meter the noise tested under was .04Vpp however during a send it peaked to .99Vpp at times.
The modules have yet to fail to respond to a command I send them :)%

Bottom Line:
I would have replaced all my current appliance modules had these had the silent relay.
However don't let that stop you from getting these they do perform well in my tests thus far.

The older PAM01 and PAM02 also had AGC.
Maybe they improved it in the PAM05 and PAM06.

I'm sure it has been improved on, I'm told the inners have changed though what exactly that means I'm unsure off.
I thought the model # change meant the silent relay however I was wrong B:(
So far any new module/device from Authinx I've been able to get has worked better then its predecessor.
